This statement was at the bottom of an e-mail I just received from a colleague I respect greatly (and respect even more now). Starting now I'm adding it to the bottom of my e-mails and I hope that you will too.

Do you realize that the less paper is printed, fewer trees get planted in the forests where paper comes from?

That is definitely a great thought. Reminding people not to print indiscriminately is a good warning. It is a good caption or signature line to add to our emails. Guess we can come up with more along these lines to motivate people to act responsibly in everything they do. We at the Climatarians run a website devoted to environment issues which highlight many similar solutions to household power saving initiatives.
